Questions About Book Search, Borrow and Extension Transactions
You can find the subject, author, book title, series name or keyword you are looking for when you search from the scanning computers on the ground floor of the library and the library web page.
Academic staff can borrow 20 books for 2 months, undergraduate students can borrow 5 books for 15 days, doctoral students can borrow 10 books for 1 month, graduate students can borrow 8 books for 1 month, and administrative staff can borrow 6 books for 15 days. Borrowing is done with the identity of Gazi University.
Bounded journals are not available for loan.
You can bring the books that are not available in our library with the interlibrary loan service. In order to benefit from this service, make sure that the book or books are in our collection by scanning the printed and electronic catalogues. If there is no book or books in our library, you can find out which library the book or books are in by scanning it and apply to the Interlibrary Cooperation Unit. You can use the Interlibrary Cooperation System for your requests. Only academic staff can benefit from this service.
If the book has been borrowed by someone else, reservations can be made using the scanning terminals at the library entrance and the Library web page. After the reserved book is returned, it will be kept for you at the Reading Services Unit for 3 days.
All users can extend the duration of the book if the book has not been reserved by someone else and the return period has not expired. Extensions can be made by bringing the book to the library or from the Library web page.
Our library is made from the Reading Service Unit on the ground floor. In addition, you can make your own loan-return and extension transactions from the 3 self-checks on the ground floor of the library.

Current journals are located in the 1st floor current hall of the library. To find out if the journals you are looking for are available in our Library, you can use the catalog browsing page on the library's web page.
Printed journals are located on the 1st floor of the library. On the right side of the floor, journals belonging to science and health sciences, and on the left side, journals belonging to social sciences are placed in alphabetical order according to the name of the journal. The magazine collection before 1987 is in the archive. In order to gain access to the journals in the archive, you can ask the 1st floor desk staff for help.
Theses are located in the Thesis Department on the 2nd floor of our library. To access theses, you need to search our catalogue. After typing the title of the subject you are looking for in the catalog, start the search by putting the thesis statement. After getting the classification number of the records, go to the Thesis Department counter. In addition, the theses with access permission can be accessed from the open access area of our library web page.
