SOCIAL CONTRIBUTION POLICY
Gazi University Central Library provides all undergraduate, graduate, doctoral students and academic staff with the consultancy support they need in their research in order to contribute to the society from education and research and development activities; It aims to increase the scientific and technological research competence of the University and its social contribution, thanks to the supply of needed information resources and the trainings it provides.
The most important community service application of the library is the services provided by the Visually Impaired Unit, which was established to support the education and research activities of the visually impaired. Some of the Unit's services include scanning and electronically transforming the resources in the library collection, turning them into printed books with a Braille printer, and converting them into listenable formats by vocalization.
Aiming to support the educational and research activities of all Gazi University students, the Central Library screens films three days a week in its conference hall in order to meet their cultural and artistic needs. In this way, the cultural and artistic development of students who cannot participate in artistic activities for various reasons is supported. The use of materials (CD, DVD, CD of books, etc.) in the Audio-Visual Materials Unit also provides support in this area.
The core values on which the Central Library's social contribution policy is based are:
- The library shapes its services with the awareness that social contribution is a responsibility.
- The library works in collaboration with its stakeholders to provide all its members with the support they need.
- The library accepts the fact that the quality of its services and user satisfaction directly affect the institution.
- The library tries to add value directly or indirectly to the society and quality of life through its activities.
- Outputs such as publications, patents, trained manpower, etc., which are formed as a result of the use of information, contribute to the country's economy and thus to social development.
